This song is written from the point of view of someone on the precipice and having the mental clarity to look back and view their actions/intentions for the first time. Where will you be after this? When you get there, how do you think they’ll treat you based on how you treated others? Is heaven really living on through peoples happy remembrances? Who knows for sure, I don’t have the answers but it seems like something to worth thinking about.
Any proceeds collected will be donated to MADRVA.
lyrics
I feel as though my mind is going blank
I feel like there’s no gas left in this tank
I’m well aware that ignorance is bliss
Where am I?
Where is this?
How could I believe this?
Into the black
No turning back
My mind is like a magnet on some tape
I’ll leave the future up to being fate
I’m well aware that ignorance is bliss
Where am I?
Where is this?
How could I believe this?
Into the black
No turning back
Into the black
No turning back
Eat my shorts
When this is all said and done
I’ll sit there waiting in the sun
Is there anybody up there
Is there anybody up there
(Reflective/reflexive) repeated
Into the black
(Is there anybody up there? is there anybody up there?)
No turning back
(When this is all said and done I’ll sit there waiting in the sun
Is there anybody up there (repeated))
